In more Caribbean news, ‘Gardenia Destang takes her book “Becoming Me” to readers worldwide, without leaving home’

Basseterre, 7 June 2013 – “With the multitude of options now available to them, authors  and in particular, Caribbean authors need to embrace technology and move forward to give their books the greatest exposure possible” says Saint Lucian author Gardenia Destang.

Gardenia was speaking about the launch of a virtual book tour for her debut novel Becoming Me, which became an Amazon Kindle Bestseller earlier this year. According to Gardenia the fifteen day tour will run from 10-28 June 2013, on weekdays and will take the book to various online blogs or websites across the world including Jamaica, Australia, and the UK.

Conducting a Virtual Book Tour is an innovative way for authors to expose their books to new audiences around the world. The tour for the novel includes interviews with online radio show hosts, guest blog posts, and features on the sites which have agreed to host Gardenia and the book for the tour.

The tour will also include giveaways of the book along the way and readers can begin their journey of ‘becoming’ by picking up a copy of Gardenia’s Becoming Me Journal which will be available on the website http://www.GardeniaDestang.com from the first day of the tour. The tour schedule will be available on the website.

Gardenia says “I really appreciate the support I have received for this tour and would like to thank all the tour hosts who have accepted my invitation to be part of this exciting tour.”

Set in Atlanta, this blend of romance, comedy, and drama follows thirty-one-year-old Terri Williams, a professional African-American woman who seems to have it all.

To complicate the issues, she is haunted by romantic memories of the past. Terri will find the gumption she needs to change her course in life and pursue the career she has always kept up on a shelf.

To change the world, she realizes she will first need to change herself. A tale of enduring love, betrayal, trust, and the bonds of friendship and family, Becoming Me is an engrossing read of self-discovery.

The epic tale of parental bonds stretches beyond Atlanta to take in tropical Florida, big-city Chicago, and the Caribbean delights of Jamaica.

Gardenia Destang has worked as an HIV counselor and program director. She is known for screen plays and the first local television mini-series “Heartstrings” an eight, 30 minute episode romantic drama on the issues of HIV and great love, for which she was the writer, producer, and director.

She also wrote, directed, and co-produced the well known play “Do you Know Damien” a two-2 hour 15 minute full production. Gardenia lives on St Kitts with her husband and their two children.

Individuals can obtain their Kindle or Paperback versions of this Amazon Kindle Bestseller and page-turner at amazon.com/author/gardeniadestang.
