It is well known that High Commissioners and Ambassadors are meant to serve in their respective capacities for a specific period.
Many citizens, particularly in the UK Caribbean community are accustomed to receiving new appointments and bidding farewell to them as a matter of course with no personal loss.
This situation was far from the case when High Commissioner for Grenada Ms. Ruth Elizabeth Rouse appeared as special guest at a leaving do in her honour organised by the United Groups of Grenada.

Well wishers came in their numbers from all over the United Kingdom and expressed gratitude in many ways including through song, a gesture we’re sure the High Commissioner won’t forget. She confirmed she was deeply touched by the outpouring of love and appreciation from the National Associations and members of the Diaspora.
From the many farewell statements it was clear that Ms Rouse will be sorely missed and will leave a legacy difficult to follow, much less surpass.
