An Apology Cannot Substitute for Reparations

It is no secret the wealth amassed by the many social and financial institutions of Britain and the United States. Hundreds of millions of sterling and dollars have been raised on the backs of former slaves that have since used to enrich many families across both territories, many of whom own highly profitable businesses today.

With the advent of the Black Lives Matter movement that surged to prominence since the killing of George Floyd, companies and religious institutions guilty of their involvement in the activities of the trans Atlantic Slave Trade have come forward to pledge monetary and developmental support for minority communities.
