CaribDirect Caribbean Poetry Competition Terms & Conditions

Please read these competition rules carefully.

To enter this competition you must be: (a) A Caribbean citizen (birth or naturalisation) or descendant and (b) Aged 12 to 45 years old at the time of entry. Proof of ID required: School ID, Teacher’s reference, Driver’s Licence, or Passport.

  1. This competition is not open to employees or contributors of CaribDirect Limited (or members of their immediate families).
  2. Entering the competition is free.
  3. Only one entry per person.
  4. Poem must be related to theme posted on from time to time.
  5. To enter, send your poem, along with your full name, a passport size photo and e-mail address to
  6. The prize will be awarded to the entrant whose poem has been adjudged the best by the public using the rating keys at the bottom of the poem WICKED – INTERESTING – USEFUL – BORING – NAH MAN. Should there be draws the CaribDirect management team will conduct a further evaluation to arrive at the winner.
  7. The first competition starts on Monday 25th June and closes at 23.59 on Friday 20th July 2012. Succeeding competitions will take place every two weeks thereafter.
  8. The winner will be notified by email and by publication on and the prize will be sent to the winner by registered delivery (post).

  13. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
