Caribbean news. The Dominican man who was convicted to 11 years in prison for molesting two minors will have his appeal heard next week during the sitting of the Court of Appeal.

Camillus ‘Jim’ Parris was convicted and sentenced in April 2011.

Parris was sentenced to ten years in prison for rape and fifteen months in prison for each of the two counts of indecent assault. The sentencing for both counts of indecent assault was to run concurrently, but consecutively with the rape charge.

On March 31, 2011 a nine-member jury took several hours to unanimously agree that Parris was guilty of raping and molesting two minors in 2007 and 2008, shortly after he arrived to live in the BVI.

The charges involved a nine year-old girl and a seven year-old. Parris, 56, is a mechanic by trade and is married with three daughters. Article courtesy http://www.bvihotpress.com
