Now, I could have sworn, I heard on the nightly news on a popular television station that millions of dollars, worth of assets belonging to popular deejay Vybz Kartel, including his S Class Benz were seized by the police. According to the report, the police now have the authority, under a new legislation, to seize assets of accused persons to calculate the value of the assets and compare it to the earnings of the accused person. This report was made about mid-January. Subsequent to that newscast, I read on dancehallstarz.com that the assets were not seized. The website claims to have confirmation from Assistant Commissioner of Police, Elan Powell, head of Criminal Investigation Bureau. According to the website Mr. Powell said he was not aware of this claim. So who to believe?
I am now confused as to the true state of Kartel’s assets. If this report is true, however, this may spark further trouble for the embattled deejay and his loyal fans may have an even longer time to wait before they hear from him again.
On to more Gaza news though. Gaza Slim aka Vanessa Bling who was charged with perverting the course of justice, after she claimed, she was attacked by Lizard, the victim in Kartel’s murder case, was given bail. The police are alleging that Slim conspired with Kartel to lie to the police, that the man who is supposedly dead, attacked her. All I have to say about that is, “It mus’ be a duppy or a gunman.”

When she appeared on Entertainment Report, she seemed happy to be free; however, she was very tight lipped about the current situation of her boss. All she was prepared to say was that, he was in good spirits when she saw him and that he was still “brown” so apparently he is maintaining his bleaching. I wonder if she was briefed as to what to say.
Moonie, Kartel’s co accused in the murder case was also given bail at 1 million dollars. Persons are already speculating that Kartel may have a traitor in his midst. But of course, that just sounds a lot like rum talk or something a devoted Gaza fan would say.
