Anthony Holroyd aka “Digikal Roots” is a husband, father of five girls and a vintage reggae/roots classics connoisseur, whose musical dub style is a force to be reckoned with. His love of roots and culture began at a tender age of 16, some twenty three years ago when he decided that music was his true passion. Loving the sweet vibes of vintage reggae he began listening to original vintage artists such as the Reggae Boys, Pioneers and the Upsetters. Digi as he is affectionately called began his musical career as a DJ and sound engineer on pirate radio stations in the UK.  In 1989 while working for Jive FM, Unique FM, Love 100, Vibez FM is when he purchased his first “Roland MC303, K1 Sound Module, Akai Sampler and an Atari ST” and the rest as they say is now history!!!

Digikal Roots began creating, producing and engineering his own rhythms (called riddims in the music world) that resulted in the creation of four “Free Net” albums giving the listeners a versatile look at the world of dub from the perspective of Digikal Roots. September 2011, Digikal Roots released his 4 track E.P vintage dub called “Dub Master” that went on to use the actual Discography. Although the riddim “Sea Legs Dub” was first released in 2010 on the album “Riddim Fulla Culture” it has now been re-released in 2011 on the “Springline Jamaica Classics Volume One” album.

In 2010 Springline Jamaica, an online blog site stated that “Digikal Roots 4 track E.P features “Bud Rot Dub” straight away one feels like a full on Stranglers meets the Clash Studio jam produced by Mikey Dread”. t labels of J.A. He is currently building a vintage studio and working hard in the studio with various vocalists from the roots scene. Look out for the Dub Master E.P released in 2010 in a dubwise vintage Fashion! Digikal Runs Dreadfyah Studio, Dreadfyah Records & Dreadfyah Design and is currently co-producing the 3rd album from reggae artist Sahra Indio due for release in Spring 2012, Digikal is also planning a 10 inch release with Ras Sis Highness which will be dropping in 2012 Digikal’s profile has raised on the scene over the last 12 months and there’s lots more to come from the Digikal Roots campDiD.  Digikal is quoted as saying that “Dub music locks on to the soul like the heartbeat of the earth, pounding through and lifting the spirit to higher heights. Dub music is meditation music. Dub music is also classified as rebel music, Dub music enlightens, Dub music reaches in and expands the consciousness”.

Digikal’s music quality and style has been recognized as that similar to the Randy’s and Impact Labels (J.A)

Immersing himself in the Reggae vibes has propelled him forward to become the booking agent/management for Hawaii Reggae Artist Sahra Indio. The new Single “Humanity”, produced by Digikal Roots will be featured on the upcoming album entitled “The True I” on Olumeye Records, in 2012. This body of work displays Digikal Roots creative arrangement and musical versatility.http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/humanity-single/id497513499

He is managing upcoming Jamaican artist “Ras Sis Highness” who seems to be on the rise since airing a practice session video using the highly popular Steppas Vibe “Kulcha” http://youtu.be/zi37rF_KTSI that  was recorded at Dreadfyah Studio.
