In a recent SKNABA General Meeting President Kenroy Tobias announced to the membership that 2014 will mark 50 years since basketball was introduced to the federation and that his executive will be pursuing a number of activities to mark the significant milestone.

According to General Secretary Wallis Wilkin a 50th Anniversary Organising Committee will be put in place to conceive and implement ideas and activities for the Anniversary Celebrations.

“The  Committee will develop a programme of activities and they will have the mandate of the Executive to implement said  activities,” said Wallis Wilkin. “The Executive’s only request is that the production and publication of a 50th Anniversary Commemorative Magazine and the re-establishment of the LIBA Leeward Islands Basketball Association be considered for  part of the Anniversary programmes or activities of the soon to be established committee,” Wilkin continued

Basketball was introduced to St.Kitts-Nevis in 1964 by Stanley Sebastian.
