Caribbean news. For the past three weeks since the announcement of CaribDirect’s second media seminar, the hype has been about the calibre of panelists chosen and the pedigree of influential African Caribbean resource persons attending the seminar to speak to the topic, ‘African Caribbean Reflections in British Media – Diversity Matters.’
Organised in collaboration with Shiloh PR, the leading public relations company in the UK that focuses exclusively on targeting the African Caribbean community, this seminar boasts a panel of predominantly women, namely: Ruby Mulraine, former executive of BBC 1Xtra; Joanna Abeyie, Senior Showbiz and News Journalist; and Michelle Riley, Director Black Visions TV. The team is complemented by the only male and charismatic actor / comedian Richard Blackwood.
The panel will be supported from the floor by a cadre of specialists including: Michelle Matherson, Talent Executive ITV Shiver Studios; Neila Butt, the BBC’s diversity editor for English regions; and we are proud to announce, Babi (Baby) Isako, writer / creator of award-winning web series Venus vs Mars, recently commissioned by SKY LIVING HD TV for 2015 release.
Billed for Wednesday 17th December 2014 at the Westminster Kingsway College, 211 Grays Inn Rd, London WC1X 8RA, (take Northern Line to Kings Cross and exit onto Kings Cross Square, bear left , at lights cross over to Grays Inn road and walk for 5 minutes) with registration beginning at 6.30pm. The event will be moderated by veteran BBC radio broadcast journalist / presenter, writer and publisher, Dotun Adebayo MBE.

PROFILE OF BABI ISAKO:
Baby (pronounced as Babi) Isako background. Writer and Creator of an Award Winning web series called Venus Vs Mars. 27 year old Baby Isako has written and produced 3 successful plays. The plays were ‘Love is a Loosing Game pt. 1&2’ and ‘Bag Ladies’.
Love is a Loosing Game was the first play to be produced. The show had 6 sold out shows which included West End theaters. Love is a Loosing Game pt2 went on to sell out the Mermaid theatre and gained sponsorship from The Princes Trust,,The Higgins Trust as the play dealt with many issues including HIV and other STDs.
Bag Ladies went theater play, went on to become Baby’s first short film. The film was shown at Cannes Short Film Corner and is also one of only two, UK films, to be selected at this year’s International Black Women Film Festival in California.
