CaribDirect.com is saddened to announce the untimely passing of Guyanese singer, Pamela Maynard yesterday Sunday 25th November 2012.

The versatile award winning singer known for renditions in Gospel, Reggae, Soul, Rhythm and Blues, Calypso and Soca performed with the likes of Ray Charles, Jimmy Cliff and many other notables died following a long battle with Breast Cancer.

Pamela who was a former member of the Guyana Defence Force was based in Canada and had many friends and adoring fans all over the world including here in London.

Those of us who knew her will miss her cheery personality and special gift of song on stage, not to mention her uniquely long and beautifully designed fingernails.

Our condolences go out to her daughters, Sonja and Samantha who posted the sad news on Pamela’s Facebook page yesterday. See video of Pamela performing at Mikey Blacks Birthday party in London last year…
