Cenuk has been specially invited by the Commonwealth Secretariat to present at Caribbean Regional Technical Workshop on Development of National Youth Entrepreneurship Policies and Directors of Youth Meeting to be held in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago on the 20- 22 June 2018.

The workshop will be conducted over three days and will be highly participatory, with a combination of technical presentations by specialists/experts, good practice presentations, panel/group discussion and exercises, and Q&A sessions.

Participants will discuss issues of youth employment in the region, and existing policies, programmes and tools.  They will then explore the positioning of youth entrepreneurship as a key part of advancing youth employment, and be introduced to the Commonwealth-UNCTAD Policy Guide on Youth Entrepreneurship and the Policy Brief on Youth-led Entrepreneurship for Blue and Green Economies.  After considering approaches for enhancing youth entrepreneurship policies and strategies in their own countries, with input from key stakeholders such as financial institution, young entrepreneurs and regulators, they will complete a practical planning exercise. Participants will be sent a pre-reading list before the workshop to ensure they are well prepared to fully benefit.

”This is a fantastic practical programme and opportunity to really engage our young entrepreneurs, who are our future”, cited Denis St.Bernard the Operations Director of CENUK, we feel privileged to be part of this programme which is consistent with CEN’s vision.

CENUK

CENUK is a London based social enterprise focused on helping Caribbean businesses in the Caribbean and the UK to increase their competitiveness and export capability. We are non-affiliated and non-partisan but work closely with all Caribbean High Commissions as well as with a number of UK and international organisations, including the Commonwealth Secretariat and UK Trade and Investment.

Our vision is to be recognised as the leading provider of market intelligence and business facilitation services for small and medium sized Caribbean businesses based in the Caribbean as well as in the UK.

We are committed to building trust and effective collaboration – the keys, we believe, to competitiveness in the 21st century global marketplace.

One of CEN’S Presenters the Caribbean Regional Director Lloyd Omeally will be focusing on the importance of the need for young entrepreneurs to build their own eco -systems and take risks in their early start up phase. He will also use the platform to show a couple of CEN’s practical experiences, along with showing to the young entrepreneurs alternative ways of raising equity capital to grow their businesses via vehicles such as the Junior Stock Exchange (jse) which is now embarking on a Nano Market for micro businesses. CEN is one of the key partners of the Tripartite MOU with the Small Businesses, the Stock Exchange and CEN
