This is the second of a three part article.  This is the continuation of the nominees for The Star’s People’s Choice Award

Best New Male Artist – Nominated in this category are, Popcaan, Khago, Liquid, Richie Loops and Chan Dizzy.  Two of the nominees in this category do not qualify for this category.  Anyway, this is another category that I cannot name the winner for as the two frontrunners for this category, Popcaan and Khago did extremely well and as a result I cannot call it.

Best New Female Artist – Keida, Ikaya, Vanessa Bling, Sheba and Denique are the nominees.  It is sad to say that Vanessa Bling and Sheba’s year also got cut short after the arrest of the Gaza Emperor but they did well nonetheless.  Denique and Ikaya also did a fairly good job.  However, none of the nominees really stand out for me.

Producer of the Year – Notnice, Don Corleon, ZJ Chrome, Seanizzle, Russian, Stephen McGregor and Cash Flow Records are the nominees here.  Sad to say I have not been keeping abreast with the work the producers had been doing for the past year so I cannot make a judgement on this.

Best Dressed Male – Nominated for this award are, I Octane, Chino, Gyptian, Ding Dong and Vegas.  This may be the category that I am most excited to talk about.  I Octane needs to lose some weight.  All that weight does not look good on a Rasta man.  I found it hard to look past all that fat to determine whether or not he dressed well throughout 2011.  Ding Dong is a dancer, and therefore dresses like one and in my opinion, dancers dress like immature teenagers.  The same goes for Chino and Gyptian though they are not dancers, their dressing come off a bit immature to me.  So the award goes to…Vegas.  Now that is how a man should dress.  A lot of the times I see Gyptian he is wearing a suit and he usually looks really clean and well put together.

Best Dressed Female – Going up for this award are, Ce’Cile, D’Angel, Tami Chynn, Cherine Anderson and Lady Saw.  I don’t really see Tami Chynn often enough but when I do see her she is well put together.  The same goes for Ce’Cile.  I can’t say I am a fan of Cherine Anderson’s fashion choices and D’Angel is always swagging with her dress code.  For this category I have to put D’Angel on top not because she dresses better than Tami or Ce’Cile but because I see her more often and when I do she is always red carpet ready.
